SEO…
What is SEO and what does it mean to the effectiveness of your website?
SEO is a term that’s often thrown around as haphazardly as a 5 year-old kid throwing a frisbee to a dog.
It stands for “search engine optimization”, but in practical terms, it means:
The processes, copy, other content, and some programming of your website – the strategy by which your prospects and customers find your website on the internet. (driving traffic to your site and not paying advertising costs).
And SEO isn’t a one-time thing. It’s not just stuffing some keywords into the page (but that’s one component) and then it’s done. It’s an ongoing process systematically making small changes is what makes it most effective.
There’s page titles, heading tags, subheads, alt tags, descriptions, incoming and outgoing links, and on and on.
Mostly small things, but quite a few of them and to get good search results often takes time, sometimes months.
Your sales copy is one of them. Sales copy in each of your web pages has to be written to take advantage of the search engines, namely Google.
But where most people make mistakes is writing ONLY for the search engines and not writing copy that your visitors want to read.
That’s where an experienced web copywriter comes into play. He can write copy that gets recognized by the search engines (computers) PLUS gets read by and converts your visitors.
Copy that only does one or the other will probably not be as successful as copy written for both.
If you want your website to get more free traffic by getting found more often or if you want more information about how I can help you write more effective sales copy for your website, shoot me an email or call me at 603-686-5140.
To your website success!

Do you outsource your graphic work for your website? I like them and would be interested in knowing who did yours! I’m in the process of designing my template for my new blog but having a hard time. Looking to pay someone to help.
Hi Paul,
My site is based the Mandigo theme. It looks clean and simple right out of the box, and has a lot of nice options that are easy to change.
I also learned how to make any other tweaks (I wanted) in the code myself. The Theme is free, just search on Mandigo Theme.
Download it and see what it looks like with the default settings (it has different color options, and configurable sidebars, too). It may be fine for you.
If you want, contact me via e-mail, and I can help you modify some things and bill you my hourly rate. But keep in mind, I’m not a programmer or designer. However, I can usually find how to make some common tweaks.
Hope this is helpful.
